Award from 25th Annual Oil Painters of America National Show

I’m happy to share that my painting Cool Water (16×20 inches, Oil on Linen Panel) was awarded the Impressionist Honorable Mention in the Oil Painters of America 25th Annual National Show.

I wasn’t able to attend the opening reception, but from what I’ve seen online and heard from friends who did attend, the exhibition is exceptionally strong. More than 2,000 paintings were submitted for this show, and considering the high caliber of the 200 paintings that were accepted, I’m humbled by this remarkable honor. Thank you to the award judge, artist Kevin Macpherson, and to the Oil Painters of America.

The paintings will remain on display at Southwest Gallery in Dallas, Texas, through June 15, 2016. Click here to see all the paintings in the exhibition.

Congratulations to all the other artists who are included in this incredible show and to the other award winners!

That’s impressive, Dan. Well done. And, what a beautiful painting. I’ll get to see it in person this weekend, as I’m going to check out the OPA show. Looking forward to it.

Thanks so much, Mike. Have fun at the show! Since I didn’t make it to the opening, would you be willing to send me a photo of my painting hanging?
