Supply List (Studio Painting)
Please call me at 805-317-9634 with any questions.
- Portable easel of some type (French easel, pochade box, etc., I often use a pochade box made by Open Box M)
- If you plan to work sitting down, you may want to bring a portable chair or stool since I don't have many extra chairs. (I normally stand when I paint.)
- Several photos to paint from (4" x 6" or larger)
- Small sketch pad and pencil
- Canvases - whatever size you prefer
- Gamsol (made by Gamblin) or odorless mineral spirits like Turpenoid, no turpentine products, please.
- Container for holding mineral spirits and cleaning brushes
- Palette for mixing paint
- Palette knife for painting and cleaning palette
- Paper towels
- Roll of masking tape
- Brushes I use:
- #2, #4, #6, #8 bristle flats (I'm currently using Utrecht series 201 bristle flats, but the brand doesn't really matter as long as the bristles don't fall out too easily).
- #2, #4, #8, #12 sable flats (I use Royal & Langnickel sable flats, series 5590, which are becoming increasingly hard to find, but should be available here).
